Whitney Hubbs, Day for Night

Exhibition Dates:  November 3 – December 18, 2009

OPENING RECEPTION – THURSDAY, November 19, 5- 8PM

Whitney Hubbs will be featured in her first solo at Carl Berg Projects in a show titled “Day for Night”. This exhibition will feature black and white photographs whose non-linear story is based on the subtle and sometime dramatic presence of light.  Hubbs creates a tale where light is the main character in the story.  Her dramatic and sometime subtle use of light directs the viewer through a nuanced story that reveals itself through drama and quietness.

Hubbs’ photographs, which are hand printed by the artist, reveal a subtle nature rarely seen in present day photography.  There is a powerful quietness to these images that can only be experienced first hand. The art of photography is present in the exquisite works.

Hubbs is a resent graduate from the MFA program at UCLA.
